Indigo Essences

 

Indigo Essences are crystal essences made in Ireland by Ann Callaghan a homeopath and ex director of The Irish School of Homeopathy. In 1999 Ann gave up her very busy practice a large proportion of which catered for children to pursue her dream – the creation of crystal essences to help children. She stopped lecturing and treating patients and followed her well tuned instinct and set sail towards her personal legend. With her time, knowledge, finance and most importantly intuition, she started “to get these essences on the road.”

 

When she was studying to be a homoeopath in London, she read a book that talked about new children who would be born to help the world make a huge evolutionary leap. These children are called Indigo children and good Irish adult examples of them could be Sinead O Connor and the late Jonathan Philbin Bowman. Both grew up to challenge the norm, bring love onto the agenda and question stagnant, indeed archaic thinking.

 

“This book suggested that these children would be born enlightened and that they would be the first of a new kind of human being,” Ann said ”The hair stood up on the back of my neck as I read this and I didn't put the book down till I'd finished it. I knew that this was my life's work. And for many years I didn't do anything about it except make sure to specialize in the treatment of children in my homoeopathic practice.”

Indigos come into the world with a feeling of royalty and often act like it.

 

They often tell the parents "who they are" and have difficulty with absolute authority especially when authority is without explanation or choice. Certain things for example, like waiting in line and pointless exercises they will not do. Frustrations with systems that are ritual-oriented are key signs. Indigos often see better ways of doing things both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters".

 

They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like mind around them, they often turn inward; feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially. They will not respond to "guilt discipline ". Primitive systems of parenting steeped in breaking the will of the child will just not do. They are here some say to break up all that way of thinking, being and doing. “However,” Ann said, “I believe all children, indeed all people, on the planet now are playing their part in this transition.”

 

Putting healing vibrations in bottles and calling them essences has been around for quite a long while. The first ones were made with the healing vibrations of flowers, The Bach Flower Remedies and were made in England in the '30s. The man who made them was a homoeopath first just like Ann. “He wanted to make healing simpler. So he invented the flower essences. He also wanted people to know that they could make their own essences and told them how. I quite agree with him.”

 

In recent times Australian Bush Flower Essences have made a big impact in natural healing. The Lakeland School of Homeopathy in Scotland uses them to treat their patients in conjunction with homeopathic medicines and sometimes on their own.

 

The indigo essences are made with the help of crystal and gem energies. There are quartz crystals in every electrical appliance in the world. Our everyday lives are full of crystals. Scientifically crystals have been known to be excellent conductors of electricity. Each crystal like every child has a unique story and can help with a particular problem or indeed, multiple problems. Azurite, Isis and Ruby are a few of the range of crystals used to make the essences.

 

The general themes of "feeling safe" and "knowing that you are perfect just the way that you are" are common to almost all of the Indigo Essences, although each one has its own nuance.
